HIGH CONSISTANCY RUBBER
High Consistency Rubber is usually named as HCR for short or sometimes mentioned as solid silicone rubber.
HCR is a rubber like elastomer that is composed of silicone gum with high polymethylvinylsiloxane (PMVS) level, fumed silica or precipitated silica as reinforcing filler along with various other additives to create special properties.
To make a silicone article, HCR shall be blended with peroxide or platinum curing agents, and sometimes, additives, colorants to create a ready-to-use compound and then be processed under high temperature together with high pressure or hot air by mold compression, extrusion, injection or calender molding.
